Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has said Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has a nightmare and that nightmare is Kosovo. In an interview on Thursday for “ Albania military alliance '%s' Croatia They're baseless.
Also, Rama dismissed Vuciqi's idea that Turkey has “no-osman ambitions in the region, citing a delayed project restoring a small mosque damaged by floods in Albania by the Turkish Co-operation and Co-ordination Agency (TIKA). According to him, if Turkey had such ambitions, the mosque would have been rebuilt that three years ago.
“What neo-osmanism? I am sure that Serbia's president can see that Turkey has invested more in Serbia than in Albania and Kosovo together”, Rama has said, responding to an October statement of Vuciqi last year, which accused Turkey of having “dreamt of the Ottoman” following the sale of the Skydavers fears in Kosovo. Later, he also accused Turkey and the United States of arming Kosovo, portraying it as “a direct threat to Serbia and its territorial integrity”.
Rama did not spare words regarding Vuciqi's allegations that Albania, Croatia and Kosovo were forming a <x0-second military coalition” aimed at endangering Serbia. Rama characterised these claims as fears stemming from Serbia's inability to accept reality.
President Vuciq is somebody with real knowledge, excellent intuitions, who is looking forward to a lot of things, but has his nightmare: it's Kosovo. That's it. Period. When the nightmare invades his emotions, he also manages to say things that sincerely do not make sense”, Rama has declared.
However, Rama underlined that even though there is disagreement with Belgrade, Vuciqi remains a “leader who can talk about and build co-operation on common goals”.
Albania's prime minister also stressed Albania's firm support for Kosovo.
Kosovo is independent; it is a republic. This process is irreversible. If Kosovo is affected, Albania is affected. If Kosovo is under an existential threat, Albania is under a existential threat”, Rama said.
