Sa SKUK reports that so far, patients with this pathology have been forced to seek treatment outside public health institutions.
The start of applying this procedure to KKUK represents an important step in advancing urological services and offering modern treatments within Kosovo's public health system. The procedure was carried out by the Urology Clinic Team in collaboration with the Anesthesiology Clinic, using contemporary laser nuclear technology, which allows for breaking and removing kidney stones through a minimal invasive approach”, the report says.
“PCNL Method used for treating large kidney stones and realized through a very small cut in the skin, enabling direct access to the kidney. This technique reduces surgical trauma, hospital time, and recovery. The patient with the initials N.M., born in 1967, is the first case he successfully submitted to this intervention and has been released home in good health”, the report says.
