That decree was considered unconstitutional to Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who announced he is being sent to the Constitutional Court for Confrontation.
Meanwhile, other opposition parties have welcomed the president's decision, but said they would respect any decision the Constitutional issue of complaints submitted to the president's election.
Below the text of the decree:
The president of the Republic of Kosovo, in support of Article 86 (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, which stipulates that the election of president of the Republic of Kosovo should become no later than thirty days before the end of the current president's mandate, related to Article 82 (1.3) of the Constitution, and based on Article 84 (4) of the Constitution, Article 6 of Law No. 03/L-094 for the president of the Republic of Kosovo and Article 4 (4) of the Order ( P) No. 02/2022 for organising and functioning Presidency (30.12,2022)
DEKRET
The 10th Parliament's (X) Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo is distributed.
This decree goes into effect on the date of the signing.
