A 15-point plan drafted by Washington has been broadcast to Iran through diplomatic channels, but authorities in Tehran have not confirmed its accession as the basis for negotiations.
Central Command spokesman Khatam al-Anbiya, Ebrahim Zolfari, reacted with harsh tones, ironising the situation and stressing that “people like us could never deal with people like you”. He added that regional stability, according to Iran, is guaranteed by the armed forces and not by diplomatic agreements.
In the same line, other Iranian military representatives warned that there would be no compromise with the US, stressing that any result of the conflict would be determined on the ground rather than on the negotiating table.
The 15-point plan, reported by The New York Times and other media, includes broad demands on Iran, such as the disposal of nuclear infrastructure, the ban on uranium enrichment and restrictions on the missile programme. In return, sanctions and support for a civil nuclear programme are envisioned.
