The tragic balance in Venezuela, over 4 thousand dead from devastating earthquakes

The death toll from the two earthquakes that hit Venezuela last month has increased to 4,118, while 16,740 people have been injured and thousands more are still displaced, National Assembly Chairman Jorge Rodriguez announced.
Rodriguez said 86,794 families received help after the disaster.
He announced that 6,462 persons have been rescued, while 856 buildings have been damaged and 190 have collapsed.
Authorities have distributed 9,766 tonnes of food and more than 3.9 million liters of water, while 29.966 patients have received medical treatment.
According to Rodriguez, 30,076 members of rescue teams and 29.843 volunteers have engaged in relief operations, supported by 3,454 international rescue workers.
A total of 89 temporary camps have been set up for displaced residents, while authorities have registered 1,171 post-implosures since the initial earthquakes, AA reports.
Otherwise, two quakes of 7.2 and 7.5 hit Venezuela on June 24th, with a margin of 39 seconds.
