Thaci offers 50,000-euro bail bail from The Hague

Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has offered 50,000 euros in bail at Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague in an attempt to be released on bail in the second case, where he is accused of trying to prevent justice administration.
The news was made known by Klan KosovaAccording to which the request was submitted by Thaci's defence, led by lawyer Sophie Menegon.
According to the request, the amount of 50 thousand euros has been provided with the financial assistance of Thaci's family and friends. Half the sum was offered by one of his brothers, and the rest by two friends. The defence has also handed testimony to the guarantors' financial situation in order to convince the court that the amount is of real value and would be lost if Thaci violated the terms of release.
The parachute argues that there are no more reasons for continuing Thaci's detention in this case, since he is the only one of the co-accused who continues to be held in custody.
If released on bail, Thaci has pledged to reside with his wife and son in a house on the outskirts of Pristina and will respect all conditions the court can impose. He has also promised that he will not contact any of the co-accused, witnesses or persons who may be linked to judicial processes in the Special Chambers.
His three co-accused in this case -- Isni Kilaj, Fadil Fazliu and the Smaj Union -- had been released on bail earlier after they had offered bail of 130 thousand euros and agreed to implement a set of conditions set by the tribunal.
Meanwhile, according to the report, even former Speaker of the Parliament Kadri Veseli has sought parole on bail in the main case of war crimes and crimes against humanity, arguing that the postponement of the court's statement by September 16th violates his right to freedom and family life. /Periscope/
