In a statement issued on behalf of EU leaders, the council says it remembers the need to protect regional airspace and ensure sea safety, and vows to contribute to the reduction of tensions, reports the BBC, Klankosova broadcasts.tv.
It also welcomes the increased efforts proclaimed by member states to ensure the freedom of navigation in the Hormuz Strait once the” conditions are met.
It is “prepared to fully mobilise its diplomatic, legal, operational and financial means to prevent uncontrolled migration movements towards the EU and to preserve security in Europe”, the statement adds.
