The military is closely monitoring possible threats to high government figures amid the Trump Administration's war against Iran, but according to a Washington Post report, the origin of fears that have violated airspace over Fort Lessey J. McNair remains a mystery.
Incidents come at an added alarm moment, while the US and Israel continue to attack Iran, writes the Independent.
Meanwhile, the State Department has ordered all US diplomatic posts worldwide to conduct immediate security assessments, citing the ongoing and developing “cystia in the Middle East and the potential for side effects”, according to The Post report.
The presence of fears over Fort McNair was so serious that officials have discussed the shift of Rubios and Hegseth.
However, a senior administration official said secretaries have not yet moved.
Their residence on the base was unusual for political leaders publicly reported last October.
Fort McNair is home to the National Defence University and some of the Pentagon's top officers.
Its location near Capitol Hill and the White House makes it geographically appropriate, but there is no security zone as strong as other bases around Washington. /Telegraphy/
