“All necessary checks were conducted immediately and relevant contacts were identified, as part of the common activities of prevention and supervision“, Italy's Health Ministry announced.
According to what is currently known about bird flu, infection occurs through direct exposure to infected birds but also through contact with contaminated environments or materials.
Human cases are classified as high or low pathogens, depending on the severity of the disease. The first cases cause severe high - mortality systemic infections, while the second cases cause mild or no respiratory symptoms, but they can be mutated into more aggressive forms. /Periscope
