MEPJ said the Albanian republic expects any action by Serbian authorities to take place in full compliance with the rule of law, respecting fundamental rights and procedural guarantees for each citizen.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, through the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Belgrade, is closely following the case of the detention of four Albanian citizens by Serbian authorities.
Shortly after receiving information, the embassy has officially addressed relevant institutions in Serbia and has requested full information on the circumstances of the ban, as well as to ensure respect for the rights of Albanian citizens, in line with domestic legislation and international standards.
The embassy is in constant communication with competent authorities, offering all necessary consular assistance, including contact with families of the detainees and access to their contacts with lawyers.
The Republic of Albania expects any action by Serbian authorities to take place in full compliance with the rule of law, respecting fundamental rights and procedural guarantees for each citizen.
The situation is being closely followed and any further development will be treated with maximum seriousness”, the MEPJ response said./Periscope
