Hague: Trial towards End, February 9th Next session

The biggest judicial process in Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague is coming to an end.

Next week, the judgment enters the phase of the final word of the parties, each arguing its stances.

From 9 to 18 February, hearings with the prosecution, the juro, protection, and finally the speeches of the four accused -- Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi -- will begin in court.

Their release from custody as soon as their fellow fighters await it.

KLA OVL Chairman Hysni Gucati says that despite unjust judgment, defence has been very powerful with her witnesses.

According to process monitors, the trial epilogue is near and based on what is said by defence witnesses, the release of four would be the right one.

The process has seen a very weak indictment that is very weak representation by the prosecution, if we measure evidence that has been public protection with the prosecution, defence witnesses have been much more creditable after much more information about what the Republic of Kosovo has been through, the good news is that we have come to an end and believe in the coming months we can know the epilogue of this whole process”, said Ehat Miftaraj, executive director at the IKD.

The defense has done extraordinary work, even law connoisseurs say. Lawyer Ardian Bajraktari says the prosecution has failed to testify to the points of the indictment.
