(an hour ago)Pristina University “Hasan Pristina” has marked increased interest in candidates for registration this year, with over a thousand more applicants compared to the previous year.
Rector UP, Arben Hajrullahu, has praised this growth as a positive indicator of university, saying it reflects the institution's continued work and engagement.
We've had over a thousand applicants this year, more than in the previous year. And that's very good news and that proves the hard work it is and that it's being done at Pristina University”, Hajrullahu has declared.
He has stressed that Pristina University continues to be among the main institutions of higher education in Albanian space.
Pristina's “University continues to be the university leader not only in Kosovo, but in the region, in all Albanian-language universities in the Balkans and in the world”, Rector Hajrullahu has said.
According to him, there have also been interest this year by students outside Kosovo, while among those accepted in the first term there are four students from the diaspora.
There are also applicants from Kosovo's neighbouring countries, except for reserved sites, and it is very good that this time only in the first term have 4 students from the report”, he has indicated.
Hajrullahu has also announced that reserved countries have been approved for Kosovo-born Albanians in Turkey, for the Arabs of Italy, as well as for members of the diaspora of Kosovo origin.
Among other things, he stressed that there are renovations of academic personnel, since, according to him, over 100 professors have been admitted or are in the process of accepting professors and assistants.
In addition, the reactor called for real support from relevant institutions, not just words.
We've only been in this year, under my management, admitted somewhere over 105 professors, either are accepted or are in the process of accepting professors and assistants. So there's a renewal of academic staff. Pristina University has sufficient spaces, has sufficient capacities. We just need real support, not words, but real support with a concrete budget, so that we can really finance the planned activities, among other things in the strategy that we have drafted and adopted, Pristina University's development strategy for 2026502030/31<18x1>, the reactor added.
Hajrullahu argued they have support, but because of recent political developments, the focus has not been at Pristina University, recalling that they need partners to interact with them.
