Afghanistan's deadly attack on Pakistan, many soldiers killed

Afghanistan has launched a large-scale military operation “against the positions of the Pakistani Army in response to recent attacks committed by Islamabad, Taliban officials said.

“Many” Pakistani soldiers have been killed and some have been captured captive in the offensive launched late Thursday along their common border, said the group's top spokesman, Zabhilah Mujaheded, BBC, broadcast Klankosova.tv.

Pakistan's Information Ministry said the untested “fire” was facing “immediate and effective responses by Pakistani security forces” and also claimed serious casualties on the Afghan side.

This comes after Islamabad carried out overnight air strikes in Afghanistan earlier this week, which the Taliban said had killed at least 18 people.
