A labour inspector arrested, asked for 2,000 euros in bribes to allow construction in a workshop

The Regional Unit for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption in Pristina reports it has managed to provide information/proofs, which testify that the complaining/victim M side. K. (The owner of a Construction Company), foreign citizens with permission for temporary residence in the Republic of Kosovo, has been conditioned/imped to realisation of construction works by an employee, Inspector, respectively. For all time, investigators have been in constant consultation with the prosecutor of the case by the Founding Prosecutor in Pristina and as a result of the actions taken (The security of evidence/money seized by the suspect accepted in the form of a bribe, the security of the phone that the suspect has taken with him, as well as other evidence.) has concluded that:
As a result of actions by the suspected person (conditioning the victim to bribe him for realising his right/work in the workshop, as well as accepting bribes of 1,000.00 dollars from the suspect/Work Inspector)“, said in notification.
On the basis of these actions, suspicion has come to pass that the suspect with the initials G. B., allegedly committed criminal work:
- “Use official position or authority”From Article 1414 KPRK's.
- “Taking bribes”From Article 421 of KPRK.
According to police, “sot with the 28.01.2026 high-ranking suspect has been interviewed in qualities of the suspected person in the presence of the defense lawyer and following the prosecutor's counsel with the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina, the Department of the Red Crimes, suspect G. B. has been sent to 48 hours holding for additional legal procedures”.
