As a citizen and voter of the Prizren municipality, I express my concern, but also many of my fellow citizens, regarding the violation of the integrity of the recent election process, where the discovery of serious irregularities and manipulations has affected over 600,000 citizens' votes.
The dismissal of members of the Municipal Election Commission, the arrest and establishment of charges against over 100 electoral commissioners, as well as the correction of votes for appointed candidates who, even after these corrections, continue to have sufficient numbers of votes to secure parliamentary mandates ♫ prove that this process has been deeply contaminated.
Under these circumstances, this process does not meet any electoral standards to be certified as a fair and reliable process.

Although justice institutions have not yet made final decisions regarding the individual responsibility of candidates, confidence in the integrity of elected representatives has been severely damaged. In a functional democracy, the legitimacy of the mandate stems not only from formal legitimacy but also from the credibility of the process that produces it.
Also, even if the candidates involved were to make a decision to withdraw from being MPs for ethical reasons, I think Prizren voters should not be penalised for irregularities that have not caused themselves, and the less their city remains unrepresented in the Kosovo Assembly.
Therefore, by relying on fundamental democratic principles and on our civic right to free and fair elections, I demand a repeat of elections in Prizren's municipality, as the only proportional and just means to restore confidence in the election process and in the political representation of citizens.
This requirement is not political and is not directed against specific individuals. It is a requirement for electoral justice, institutional transparency and respect for Prizren citizens' free will.
