Albania answers Vuciqi: National rhetoric cannot drag the region

At a conference from Tirana with Croatia's counterpart, the chief of Albanian diplomacy has declared that nationalist rhetoric cannot drag the region.

“We stressed the particular importance of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. This process cannot be built on historical revisionism, denial of facts, elevated war criminals, or through nationalist rhetoric, divisive and unacceptable statements that relativize, justify or echo war crimes and policies condemned by both international justice and human conscience”, Hoxha has declared.

Minister Hoxha directly responded to Vucic's statements on the military agreement between Tirana, Zagreb and Pristina.

Any commitment of ours, bilateral co-ordination, trilateral or more should not bother anyone or be used by anyone, in the region or outside, to justify the militarising of the country and society, and much less to fan the dangerous fires of war and to return archaic calls for victory and territorial affiliation. No attempt to revive past divisions, fuel tensions or prevent reconciliation and co-operation processes will be able to drag the region and neither affect our common European future, Hoxha has said.

The tripartite agreement, strongly attacked by Serbia, was commented both by Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grliić-Radman, who spoke of deepening regional co-operation, but also between the two friendly countries.
