(an hour ago)Lawyer Arianan Koci has taken on representation of the families of three people who lost their lives in the tragic accident in the Skopje Highway segment of Skopje's '%Blace, raising a series of questions about how the road was secured and demanding that those responsible be brought to justice.
Through a Facebook response, Koci indicated that, along with the victims' families, he visited the Northern Macedonia Police, but said he has not received answers to issues that he describes as essential to the whiteening of the case.
“Which company has built this segment? Who has overseen the construction, and who has been responsible for his provision? Why was access to the segment that was officially closed for circulation not physically blocked?
According to him, another fact that raises questions is that only after the fatal accident access to this segment has been physically blocked with gravel and signs of communication have been established.
If these measures were taken after the accident, why weren't they decided earlier, when the segment was officially closed for circulation?”, he stressed.
The lawyer added that so far there is no information about whether anyone has been detained or questioned about the responsibility for the case.
In his reaction Koci also raised the issue of costs that he claims have been faced by the victims ' families after the tragedy.
“Family members have been forced to pay 2,800 euros for carrying corpses from northern Macedonia to Kosovo. At least this expense had to be taken over by the state”, he wrote.
Koci has indicated that he will commit himself to legal representation of the victims' families, while demanding complete clarification of the accident circumstances and determining institutional responsibility for the case.
