Economic experts stress that historic growth has been driven by the combination of geopolitical factors, unstable policies and uncertainty of financial markets, CNN reported.
The recent decisions of the United States, including trade tensions with key allies, tariff threats to Canada and political cases that have troubled global markets, are one of the main factors that have led investors to gold as a safe haven.
One of the main factors of this increase is the weakening of the US dollar, which reduces the cost of gold for international buyers and makes it more attractive to other assets.
In addition to gold, silver has recorded significant increases, going for the first time to figure $100 per ounce.
