Family detainees in Prizren complained at KMDLNJ about rights violations

Without food and water, they say they remained for several hours, suspected of being detained for voting in Prizren municipality. In the Prizren court's corridor, police officials even wounded one of the detainees, who was entering the hearing for the security measure. Some of the family members turned to [...]
The high number of detainees found police in Prizren without sufficient handcuffs.
Instead, plastic handcuffs were placed.
When 23 of them arrested for prison voting were sent to the Court on Saturday for hearings concerning the security measure, one of them police officials caused wounds in hand with plastic handcuffs, which required the intervention of emergency teams.
This has been confirmed by the sources within the tribunal, but in the case there has been no response from the Regional Police Directorate in Prizren.
“due to the large number of detainees Friday in Prizren municipality for vote manipulation, some of the detainees were brought here to the correctional centre in Lipjan, lawyers and some of them have complained that they were kept in poor condition, including that it has been very cold and that the object has been unfunctioning for 7 years now. ”
But the lawyers' claims have rejected the Kosovo Correcting Service, under which they were offered treatment in line with human law and standards.
In the concrete case, given the Kosovo Police request, the Kosovo Correcting Service has made temporary management spaces available for the maintenance of persons detained for 48 hours. The detainees have been held at two locations, the correct centre in Lipjan and the detention centre in Gjilan. Female gender individuals have been accommodated in particular spaces, at the correcting Centre in Lipjan, in line with legal standards and procedures in force. The facility at Lipjan wasn't off duty. The space used is functional and exploited according to the need, depending on the number of prisoners. They are also activated when temporary capacity management is required, as in this case. Throughout the 48-hour ban, these persons have been separated from prisoners and managed by the Kosovo Police, in accordance with its legal competencies, while the Kosovo Correcting Service has offered only necessary space and logistical support. Throughout the time of the ban, the Kosovo Correcting Service has provided the banned food supply, sanitation and treatment in line with human law and standards. Kosovo Correcting Service
Meanwhile, lawyer Valdet Hoxha, who is a lawyer in this case, has another concern.
“Krahas a comprehensive, legal-based, transparent investigation should also have been very careful to expose those arrested as we all saw because in respect of the sacred principle of presumption of innocence, to account for each innocent until there is no firm sense of shape, in such cases it should be added caution that all those suspected of criminal acts can have investigation into each but must be respected. ”
And on this and other matters, some of the family members complained at the Council about protecting human rights.
“We have some complaints from family members because it's been a close country, food shortages and water shortages these are more of a technical nature, the fact that the large number of detainees in such a short time is a problem to settle... We have heated remarks from family members who are much more serious and just, it is the publication of names and photos of persons still detained without the beginning of investigations and procedures against them, and this is prohibited by law and is a serious violation of human rights and privacy”, said Behxhet Shala .
To see their treatment, at the Prizren Foundation Court on Saturday, there was also the ombudsman. / Dukagini TV/Periscopi/
