Through a post published on the social network Facebook, the American Embassy stressed the importance of historical memory and honor of victims of one of the darkest periods of human history.
In her message, the embassy said this day serves as a permanent commemoration of crimes committed and as a call for continued commitment to truth, justice and human dignity.
On the International Holocaust Memorial Day today, we honor the memory of six million Jews killed during the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazi persecution. We remember. We honor him. We engage in the truth and human dignity”, says the American Embassy's announcement.
