Authorities informed that the action was conducted in the Milan region three days ago, and the cuff was carried out by patrol carabinieri who spotted suspicious movements.
A 28-year-old Albanian man was arrested by carabinieri on charges of possession aimed at distributing narcotics. The incident occurred recently at the Cologno Monzese, (Monza) in the eastern suburbs of Milan, not far from the Tangenzial ring Est”, Italian media informs.
The 28-year-old car, banned in an isolated area near the ringway, drew the attention of the carabinieries at the Cologistno Monzee station. The officers then decided to inspect and search the vehicle.
Twenty - six packages containing a total of about 30kg of cocaine were found in the trunk. The Albanian was arrested and, by order of the Monza Prosecutor, sent to prison pending investigation and trial, reports Italian media.
The shipment was considerable, so it was deepening investigations into an organised narcotics network in the area, as profits accounted for millions of euros.
