“Zeption and disappointment” Harris of “k the letters” tells of tense conversations with Biden and his wife

In her long-awaited book “107 Days” (107 days), to be published next week and provided in advance by the “The Guardian”, Kamala Harris sheds light on previously undiscovered tensions with President Joe Biden during the presidential campaign.

The episodes described in the book also shed light on the challenges she experienced not only as a candidate but also as vice president in a difficult political period for democratic administration.

One of its most difficult events occurred in September, while Harris was in a hotel room in Philadelphia preparing for a crucial debate against Donald Trump. There, she received an unexpected call from President Biden.

“My brother spoke to some powerful guys in Philadelphia.” told Beden. “They won't support you because you said bad things about me. ”

Although during her term as vice president, Harris had publicly avoided any criticism of President Biden, her book revealed for the first time sincere concerns and tense moments among them.

“They give you impossible jobs, they never praise you, and now they want you there on the balcony to give you confidence. And yet, they ask us if we're loyal?

In the final chapters of the book, Harris speaks out about the lack of adequate support from the Biden team. She recalls an occasion when she was criticized for holding a very successful speech, which was perceived as a threat to the president. “Their opinion was cynical: If it shines, it fades.”

After Biden's withdrawal from the race on July 21st, which was followed by his public support for Harris, she admits campaign advisers advised him to distance himself from Biden.

“People hate Joe Biden,” had told David Plowaffe, one of his principal advisers. “It was hard for me to hear that.,” writes it.

In the following months, Harris faced a series of personal attacks, including racist claims from the republican camp. Trump, in a sensational statement, alludeed that Harris “allegedly became black” a few years ago. She reacted decisively, refusing to fall into the trap of provocations.
