At the Green Market in Pristina, trees and vegetables, mainly of the season, were among the most wanted of citizens. That's because many of them have already started preparing for pickles. However, prices are looking high on the standard of living.
We've started some preparation, some pickles and tomatoes like this. But this year the prices are very expensive, the salaries are low, as well as pensions”, says a citizen interviewed.
Because of prices, some say they have not yet begun to supply.
We're not prepared, because there's time and prices are expensive on the market. With a pension we don't make it, but we have to buy another citizen interviewed for tomorrow”.
But it's not just trees and vegetables. Citizens also complain about rising prices of other products, such as bread, a basic food product, not just during a season.
The price is high, it should probably stimulate farmers...”, says a citizen.
Those who have the opportunity to be supplied with meat for winter say that its price is up to 13 euros per kilogram. In addition to the supply of pickles, flour, and meat for the following months, citizens are also providing wood and clothing for heating.
All those who as a source of heat have wood face a price that this year is up to 65 euros per meter.
As temperatures begin to decline, citizens preparing for the cold months say they remain in hope that facing high prices will be easier than facing the cold. / RTK/ Periscope.
