Tusk warns escalation: Poland ready to bring down drones and planes

Poland will not hesitate to bring down objects that violate its airspace and pose threats, but will pursue a more cautious approach to situations that are less obvious, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said today. “
When dealing with situations that are not completely clear, such as the last flight of Russian fighter aircraft on the Petrobaltic platform, but where there was no violation of rules because these are not our territorial waters, you should think twice before you decide to act, which could cause an acute phase of conflict”, Tusk reported.
He stressed that he must be sure that Poland “will not be left alone” if the conflict escalates.
“We need to be sure that all allies will handle this in the same way that we treat”, said Tusk.
On Friday, Estonian authorities said three Russian fighter planes invaded the country's airspace near the island of Windlo in 12 minutes.
The incident occurred after Polish authorities said 21 Russian fears had invaded Poland's Polish airspace on the night of 9-10 September.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed the allegations today that Russian drones are violating their airspace. /Periscope/
