When reading the court's decision, 59 - year - old Raut tried to strike himself in the neck with a pen, after which he was forced out of the courtroom, reports ABC News.
The pen in which Raut was specifically designed not to cause injuries, so he left only bruises and bruises on his neck, ABC reported, citing an unidentified source.
Justice Eileen Canon later allowed Ryan Raut to return to the court hall handcuffed and accompanied by officers. He was informed that the decision would be issued on December 18th.
Rout faces life in prison after being sentenced for all five counts.
