Trump renames the Pentagon to the War Department through an executive order

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday to renamed the Pentagon as “War Department”, telling reporters at the Oval Office that it was a most appropriate name “” in view of the world situation. I think it's a much more appropriate name, especially considering where the world is now. [...]
I think it's a much more appropriate name, especially considering where the world is now. We have the strongest army in the world”, Trump said, before signing the order.
The order authorises Defence Secretary, Department of Defence and Defence officials to use secondary titles like “War Secretary”, “War Department” and “Deputy War Secretary” in official correspondence, public communications, ceremonial contexts and non-state documents within the executive branch, according to a document provided by CNN. And almost immediately, officials started to implement it, broadcast the Express newspaper.
Pentagon officials changed the signals outside the Office of Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, and the department's website was renewed. The old page, defense.gov, is now redirected to War. gov which features the US War Department” at the top. DOD Acronym for the Department of Defense is also replaced by DOW for the War Department in various titles.
Hegseth, who joined the president in the Oval Office, said changing the name “has nothing to do with the name, but with the restoration”.
Hegseth said the army would attack “, not only on defence”, and, as reflected in changing the name, the country would be <x2ndengrey fighters, not just defender”.
The order also instructs all departments and executive agencies to recognise and accommodate new secondary titles in internal and external communications and instruct Hegseth to recommend actions, both legislative and executive, to permanently rename the US Department of Defence at the US War Department, according to the fact sheet.
Although the fact sheet seemed to need Congress help to make the change permanent, Trump said on Friday that he was insecure.
“I don't know, but we'll find out, but I'm not sure they should, he said.
