Today or tomorrow, European leaders will visit the United States to discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine.

The news was confirmed by Donald Trump, quoted by the BBC, who added he would soon speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin while signaling that his administration was ready to pass into a second phase of sanctions against Moscow.

The idea of new sanctions was immediately welcomed by Ukrainian head of state Volodymyr Zelensky, who called on European countries to stop buying Russian energy. These developments come at the time Russia undertook its biggest air raids in Ukraine so far during the war, killing four people and hitting the main government building in Kiev for the first time.
