Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( DPSK) in The Hague has indicated that on 15 September 2025, the hearing of defence witnesses begins in the case of former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.
According to the announcement, the first witness will be the witness called by Thaci's defence, meanwhile, the session is expected to be mostly public, reports “The Justice Vow “.
The session will begin at 09 a.m. and be broadcast by 45 minutes late.
“due to high interest in the session, to attend the hearing by the public gallery at the tribunal's sites in The Hague requires preliminary registration. To sign in advance send an e-mail to the address [email protected]. Please remember that your country is confirmed only after you received a confirmation via electronic message. Confirmation electronic messages will be sent no later than September 11th 2025. Interested media organs should announce whether they need to reserve a seat in the Centre for Media”, the report said.
Meanwhile, a day before the start of the hearing of defence witnesses on September 14th, a protest is scheduled to be held at The Hague.
DPSK has indicated that November 14th 2025 is set as the date for the completion of the defence issue in this case, while the final parameters of the process and statements on the impact of alleged crimes on victims participating in the procedure are scheduled to be submitted until December 22nd 2025.
Meanwhile, on April 15th 2025, the prosecution has announced that it has completed presenting evidence in the case.
While, the defence had applied according to the 130th Rule, which envisions a request to drop any charges or charges altogether in the indictment. The decision on this requirement was made on 16 July 2025.
