Murat Latifi, official of the Kosovo Police Special Operations Unit, has been detained for 48 hours under suspicion of criminal acts of abuse of office and illegal weapons.
As the signal portal reported today, Latif allegedly provided information to the Gerbeshi family in Vushtrri, whose members are suspected of illegal activities.
In one case, Special Operations Unit member allegedly transported one of the suspects in his car, enabling him to avoid arrest.
According to the IPK, under investigative and law enforcement actions, IPK investigators have also conducted raids on the residential facility in Vushtrri where the suspect lives.
“The IPK in interest of the investigation and based on legal authorisation has recommended to the Kosovo Police the suspension of the same”, the IPK said on Thursday.
The IPK said the same with the decision of the Constitutional Prosecutor Mitrovica has been assigned the detention measure for 48 hours.
