After tomatoes and peaches blocked in Croatia, an amount of red pepper exported from Albania to Slovenia have been urgently withdrawn from the market there, due to the high level of pesticides, which was discovered in the Albanian product.
The Geaproduk company in Slovenia has given the order to withdraw peppers from Albania, as excess pesticides such as acetamid, formalised and floncamid have been found. The product exported from Albania to Slovenia, from August 24th to September 4th, was packed in cardboard boxes and later in plastic bags.
The Slovenian company has asked all citizens not to consume the product because of excessive pesticides but to return it to the shopping site or to throw it away. Also, those who have been in contact with contaminated food should disinfect their hands, authorities in Slovenia announced.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Croatia destroyed 4 tonnes of Albanian tomatoes, as they resulted in dusting 5 times the rate allowed with the poison killing chlofrenapyr insects.
Dangerous tomatoes were buried by the Croatian state, which also on August 22nd had eliminated 5 tonnes of peach from Divjaca because this Albanian fruit had found its high metal presence, nikel.
