Former SHISH chief Fatos Klosi: I have been summoned to The Hague to testify

Klosi stressed that many witnesses are not directly accusing KLA commanders and that the lack of concrete evidence has extended the process:

The witnesses who have been summoned to The Hague are not mentioning the names of former KLA leaders because they were nowhere on the scene. Even if they had committed a mistake or a crime, they did not make it before the witnesses.

So they were not accused of concrete, but they had an army and were unable to control it. They have no concrete evidence for commanders. So the process is now being extended. The fact that they are being held in custody for so long seems to want to be found guilty but difficult to happen.

I have been asked for protection as a witness at The Hague. I will go, but I haven't been to Kosovo at the time, because most of the problems are after Allied armies entered Kosovo, when the KLA was no longer operational. ”

Klosi added that the role of the KLA political commanders is often misunderstood, as they have not acted directly on the ground, but have organised the military, which has made judgment and judicial processes difficult.

Fatos Klosi: The charges against KLA leaders in The Hague, fabricated!

Fatos Klosi said many of the charges against KLA leaders at The Hague tribunal are fabricated. He stressed that the processes have been complicated and that the court can declare the guilty, but it is not clear how much it will achieve in practice.

“Invention developed over time and borders were obviously exceeded, always in order to extract as many witnesses as possible. Of course, a lot has happened, but it's clear that the charges were often fabricated,” said Klosi.

He also explained that prosecutors faced major challenges, as political commanders did not act directly on the ground:

These guys are being accused of having an operational army. Their keeping them in custody for so long as to insist that they plead guilty, despite the challenge. Ruby's testimony was more of a general statement regarding the KLA, not these people. It is difficult for both sides in such a trial. They don't have any wind evidence for commanders.

But they say why the leaders were unable to control the army. Protection is also very difficult. They had to demonstrate that there were orders. But these are not ordinary people; they are chiefs of a movement and have not been able to directly clash with opponents, whether Kosovo Albanians or Serbs”, Klosi said.

Klosi said former president and former KLA political leader Hashim Thaci have not directly commanded military units on the ground:

“Hashim Thaci has never been operational commander on the ground. He had a political role and collaborated with other states, but did not directly command the units. ”

However, Thaci has been charged with war crimes because of his role in building the KLA's organised army:

The problem has come to him because they were all accused of war-related crimes, confusing the role of political commanders with that of military in the field. They have not committed crimes directly, but are accused of having built an organised army”, Klosi said.
