Lawyer Arbenita Aliu has reacted to the suspension of Sergeant Sami Hoti, who was surprised because a closed group allegedly discussed Dimal Basha.
Aliu said this move is urgent and that, as a move, it harms the police.
“We explain that the same one has done no disciplinary violations, and this will be clarified over the next few days, as at this stage of procedure according to the internal Kosovo Police Act these are considered as internal and confidential investigations, and as such cannot be explained to the public.” has said among other things.

REAGIM
As of 16,09.2025, Sergeant Sami Hoti has been suspended from work according to Kosovo Police's internal disciplinary procedures.
His support has sparked different reactions in broad public opinion, so as Sergeant Sami Hoti's representative, I feel compelled to clarify that the same has been temporarily suspended in the three-day term on the grounds of such disciplinary violations.
We explain that the same one has done no disciplinary violations, and that will be clarified over the next few days, as at this stage of procedure under the internal Kosovo Police Act these are considered as internal and confidential investigations, and as such cannot be explained to the public.
We explain that communications that have been lured into the media cannot be considered in any form of disciplinary violations, much less when communication has been completely private in a closed group of colleagues, and the same communications have not been public and have not damaged anyone, nor the credibility, impartiality or integrity of the Kosovo Police, so that it can be considered a violation.
This temporary suspension has been hasty, unreasonable and harmful for Sami Hoti and the police community itself.
Therefore, we expect the Kosovo Police to reflect on the fact that this unnecessaryly created and reckless situation cannot be considered a disciplinary violation only on the basis of closed communication of a social group.
