Monetary means have been found in the possession of a citizen of Serbia, Dogana has announced, while mainly in Serb dinars, and part in the euro.
The customs officers at the Jarinje Border Cross during a routine search of vehicles entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo have discovered and seized undeclared monetary means worth nearly 20,000 euros. Monetary means have been found in the possession of a Serbian citizen who was entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. The seized money consisted mainly of coins in Serbian dinars, while the rest in euro currency. Monetary means were not declared according to customs rules at the moment of entry. Under the Republic of Kosovo legislation any monetary amount over 10,000 euros entering or leaving the country's territory must be declared near customs authorities. Disadmission of these means constitutes legal violations and undergoes administrative and punitive procedures, as well as further investigations”, Kosovo Customs has announced.
Customs has said it is committed to preventing financial smuggling, money laundering and all illegal activities that violate the country's economic and financial security.
“Such actions help preserve fiscal stability and protection of the domestic market”, Dogan announced. /Periscope/
