School year starts with fewer students, 629 children abandoned Kosovo

According to data from the Ministry of Science and Technology, 629 students have abandoned schools and left Kosovo during the 2024/25 school year.
According to official data, out of this number of retired 350 students are boys and 279 girls.
The student departure phenomenon has not been distributed simultaneously in all municipalities. The municipalities with the largest number of children who have stopped schooling are Gjakova with 89 students, Malisha with 84, Gjilani with 74, Prizren with 66 and Suhareka with 61.
In the town of Peja 46 students have abandoned school, followed by Lipjan, from which 34 students have left.
Rahovec has been abandoned by 27 students, while Istog 20. And 19 students have left Decani and Podujevo.
Although the capital Pristina has the largest number of residents, there are still few students who have abandoned schools, compared to other municipalities. In Pristina, only 9 students have abandoned school over a year and have left Kosovo. /Indesksonline/
