Russia's intervention in Romanian airspace is once again an open violation of EU sovereignty and a serious threat to the stability of the region. We are closely co-operating with Romania and member states to protect EU territory. We are in solidarity with Romania”, writes Von Der Leen on platform “X”.
The Romanian Defence Ministry today declared that the country's airspace was violated by a fears during a Russian attack on infrastructure in neighbouring Ukraine.
The fighter “Avians discovered a threat in national airspace and tracked it down until it disappeared from the radar near the village of Chilia Veche”, the ministry added.
Droni “did not fly over populated areas and pose an immediate threat to population security”, the statement said.
A few days ago, Poland reported violating its airspace by 19 Russian fears, 4 of which fell. /Periscope/
