Selimi had demanded restrictions on the subject of the question and the failure of non-calling parties to ask questions about the action or conduct of an accused who did not call him a witness, reports the “Justice Vought“.
According to DPS spokeswoman Angela Greep, in the ruling, the court has explained that the allowed framework and restrictions on questions from the non-responsive side are defined in the Procedure and Evidence Order and the court's order to develop judgment.
“Pales can ask witnesses about witness credibility and are generally authorised to ask witnesses about their arguments provided the witness is able to provide relevant evidence for the” subject, Angela Greep said.
According to Greep, the court has taken into account the concerns raised by Selimi's defence, but it would be premature and speculation at this phase of the trial to impose additional restrictions, as sʹka information on whether the prosecution would require evidence to be accepted through defence witnesses.
Therefore, the court announced that these concerns would be addressed only if a question thought to be illegal by the opposing side, or at the moment of the question, or in accordance with the procedure specified in the Order for the development of the trial is rejected, she said.
It indicated that on September 10th, the court approved Thaci's defense request to add a witness's statement to the list of material evidence.
In addition, the day before, the court had accepted certain acts of expertise submitted by the protection of the victims and a material evidence handed down by the defence.
The judges did not accept any other material evidence that was asked to be accepted by the defense. When asked about this test during the questions from the opposing side, the witness was unable to provide any context for him, so the court found it unrealistic to prove the”, Greep said further.
Otherwise, Kosovo Specialised Chambers in The Hague every Thursday at 14:30, via online platform “Zoom” hold weekly information offering updated information on recent developments regarding judicial procedures and activities in this court.
