Republican Mast leads amendment to Congress, urges Kosovo's NATO membership to become US priority

According to this organisation, this historical “ ” recognizes the strategic importance of the region and defines the clear priorities of American politics, which include:
Support of Kosovo's Independence, Future NATO Membership
Pressure on Serbia to Reduce Ties With Russia, China
Exploration of Serbia's co-operation with Russia, China and Iran on technology and security
Enhancing sanctions against those who undermine peace and stability in the Western Balkans
Through this amendment, the US is required to appoint ambassadors to three Balkan countries, including Kosovo.
“Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs will develop a strategy to restore stability in the Western Balkans, which will give priority to the appointment of ambassadors of the United States to the Balkan countries, including the governments of Montenegro, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina; it will include political recommendations on the way the United States can support Kosovo's independence and future membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO)”, in part of this amendment.
It also requires continued support of the Millennium Challenge Corporation's agreement with Kosovo.
