Specialised Chambers in The Hague last night have announced that Barbano has appointed Judge Christopher Gosnel to replace Judge Kenneth Roberts, who resigned a few days ago.
General Jovani Pietro Barbano (Givanni Pietro Barbano) appointed Judge Christopher Gosnel (Christopher Gosnell) (Canada) in accordance with the Law's Article 28 4 for Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office. On the same day, Judge Gosnel took the solemn oath”, it was said in their announcement.
And just for Gosnel's appointment on Barbano's orders, MP Behrami has reacted.
According to him, the Special Court does not report to Kosovo institutions, but to EULEX and UNMIK.

However, this is not the first time EULEX chiefs have appointed judges of the Specialised Chambers.
That is because according to the Law on Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, the EULEX chief has been designated as “Special Authority” for judges under the International Courts Register.
