From the SP Assembly, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama gave way to early elections in Tirana's City Hall.
Rama sought to become Veliaj's immediate dismissal, while proposing a candidate for mayor, current Education Minister Ogerta Manastirliu.
We come to Tirana emergency. After 7 months there is no chairman, no president voted in charge of office, no chair sentenced by justice, we have a elected head of the people who has been denied the right to freedom, a long trial of media shopping mirrors, and an open violation of the law, and every custom of that jewel from within that table and family conversation from the prison telephone. It doesn't happen in any country, in no democratic country, dictatorial not, violation has been more open, more brutal, in total abuse of office, by the three who have to control investigative materials, but that's another”.
” No one knows how long this story can last, while no non-voted deputy of the people, mayor, can have democratic legitimacy and internal strength to lead the country's capital for two years. Tirana has great, countless jobs, day and night. I don't get any credit for what he did in seven months. I thank him. But today we have to make the political decision to pave the way for elections for a new mayor in Tirana. Our representatives at the municipal council should use the chosen chairman's dismissal mechanism. It's not a proposal that I make with my heart easy, so I understand all those who may not feel good about making such a decision”./Periscopi/
