With a rich background on European affairs and a career that includes the most important international decision-making centres of Brussels, Berlin and Washington, Rudolf's appointment as ambassador to Pristina testifies to the continuation of Germany's strong commitment to supporting Kosovo's European road.
Rainer Rudolph is a career diplomat with extensive experience in international relations and European policies, which makes it an appropriate choice for a strategic post in the Western Balkans.
Currently, Rudolph holds the position of the deputy chairman of the Munich Security Conference a prestigious role that has taken place since 2023.
His career is closely linked to Germany's Foreign Ministry (Auswärts Amt) and with important positions within European Union institutions.
Before his commitment to the Security Conference, the last diplomatic post he held was that of the Prophet and Deputy Mission Chief of the German Embassy in Vienna, where he served until 2023.
In 2014,2019, Rudolf was Chief of Division at the German Federal Chancellor, where he was responsible for relations with EU member states, Union enlargement policy and its foreign relations.
