Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is ready to meet with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Moscow.
Speaking to media in Beijing, Putin said US President Donald Trump had asked him to hold talks with Zelensky, CNN writes.
“Donald asked if it was possible to hold such a meeting. I said yes, it's possible. After all, if Zelensky is ready, let him come to Moscow. Such a meeting will take place”, Putin said.
Earlier in his speech, the Russian leader stressed that he never ruled out” meeting Zelensky, but questioned whether there is “any meaning” such a meeting.
Putin's proposal is almost certain that it will be rejected by Kiev. Since Russia's full - scale invasion in 2022, Ukrainian authorities say they have hampered many suspected Russian plots to kill Zelensky./Periscopi/
