There is the 25th edition of the international marathon, an event that has gathered athletes and footers from around the world. The event aims not only to promote physical activity but also to bring together the citizens of Pristina and Kosovo, offering them the opportunity to enjoy a special day of sports.
Organised by the Kosovo Athletics Federation, in co-operation with the Pristina municipality, marathons this year gathered about 1800 contestants from different parts of the world.
With record and distance attendance of 44km, the marathon offers opportunities for all, from professional runners to amateurs.
Kosovo Athletics Federation Chairman Halil Sylejmani said the organisation for the next marathon begins as the current ends.
We started in 2001 and we reached 2025, which means 25th in a row. Every race that ends, we start immediately with the next race and so we're ready for a better start. The challenge is, there are problems, but we're all going through them. Normally, it's better to engage more than anyone who can possibly finish it. The few media have broken up this year even though we have a lot of racers, about 1800 contestants, but we thank those who contributed and will contribute that this race always, the marathon is international and always international and show the world that we are willing to organise. The Atomic Federation of Kosovo has never surrendered. We have help from police, from KSF, from other organisations, and we also have health.”, he said.
Sylejmani further added that interest in participation in the marathon is very high and that each citizen can participate in the marathon, regardless of age.
Pristina's Marathon is an opportunity to promote active and health living, while boosting the development of tourism and the local economy. / KP/ Periscope.
