During his address to the UN through a live link, President Mahmoud Abbas made it clear that the Palestinian National Authority would not support Hamas's future role in Gaza.
According to foreign media, the president of Palestine and the authority also condemned Hamas' attacks on October 7th 2023 against civilians in Israel.
He said: “Despite all our people have suffered, we oppose what Hamas accomplished on October 7th. We object to actions targeted by Israeli civilians and were taken hostage. ”
“Because these actions do not represent the Palestinian people, nor do they represent their fair fight for freedom and independence”, he further said, writes A2 CNN.
Abbas added: “We have confirmed and will continue to state that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the state of Palestine and that we are willing to bear full responsibility for governance and security, that Hamas will not have a role to play in government. ”
