President Osmani reacts to U.S. strike: Sée says not a word about guilty Kurti

Kosovo's “Republic is built on the foundations of unbreakable friendship with the United States of America. The presidency said President Vjosa Osmani has committed to this establishment of this strategic dialogue between the two countries, and said that “has shown remorse and deep concern” about this decision that the US made due to the actions of the incumbent government by Albin Kurti.

Osman, however, did not mention that reason, but in the end he said that each should take to the maximum seriousness and responsibility of preserving this “alance sacred”.

The Republic of Kosovo is built on the foundations of unbeatable friendship with the United States of America. This report is not just diplomatic, but is an existential part of our state and national identity. To that end, the President's commitment has been and remains steadfast and consistent, as confirmed repeatedly by the United States leadership, including in President Trump's last letter to President Osmani of August 2025. Therefore, the president expresses deep regret and concern about the decision to suspend the Strategic Dialogue, an important co-operation mechanism between Kosovo and the US.

Strategic dialogue was initiated by the president in 2021 through a proposal addressed to the president of the United States. This president's proposal was reconfirmed in June 2022, via verbal grade and during a meeting with the American Secretary of State in July of the same year.

Following the extraordinary work of the Presidency and State Department team, this process was finalised with final confirmation at the meeting between President Osmani and the State Department in January 2025.

The coalition issue with the US is a strategic issue that requires political unity and the commitment of all in Kosovo. Kosovo citizens know that their freedom has become reality even with the decisive help of the United States and that without this historic friendship we would never have reached where we are today.

The president of the Republic of Kosovo will continue to work closely with the United States in all areas of common interest: strengthening peace and stability in the region, further democratisation of our country, building a Euro-Atlantic future, as well as continued protection of sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo.

The security of the Republic of Kosovo is strongly linked to the support of the United States of America, so each should take on the seriousness and responsibility of preserving this sacred alliance.

Strategic dialogue reached in January 2025 is an extremely valuable mechanism for this co-operation. In that spirit, the presidency of the Republic of Kosovo will be fully and highly committed to resume this dialogue as soon as possible, because our partnership with the United States is not only guarantees for the present, but also the most secure compass towards the future.
