Job-loaded at the US Embassy in Kosovo, Annu Prattipati, has expressed disappointment with the recent statements of incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti made at the meeting of the Council General of Vetevendosje Movement.
In his speech at this meeting, Kurti pressed strong accusations against the Constitutional Court, calling it the opposition's “political approach to Vetevendosje.
Prattipati has estimated Kurti's statements have increased instability and uncertainty in Kosovo.
“We are disappointed by the recent actions and statements of incumbent Prime Minister Kurti, who have stepped up instability and uncertainty in Kosovo. These actions undermine the political process, weaken Kosovo institutions and exacerbate interethnic tensions”, Prattipati has stressed in a response to Time.
“We are carefully reviewing our response, but let me be clear, any action that weakens political and economic stability is a serious challenge to our” partnership, Prattipati has declared.
At the 59th meeting of the General Council of Vetevendosje, held on Sunday, Kurti has said the highest <x0-trial in the country is functioning as the opposition political shadow to Vetevendosje”.
The charges were made following the Constitutional decision that has imposed temporary measures through which it has prevented MPs from taking action, as well as has prevented the development of any procedure for forming Kosovo's new government.
The move is in effect by the end of September.
Kurti has said that by this ruling the court has left 120 deputies to be found for 24 days.
He has added that the blame for the delay in forming institutions is also the Constitution, with the slow dynamics of work, according to him.
“Because 5 of the 7 judges of the Constitutional Court were elected in the distant year 2018 when the ruling coalition was in power PAN with the Serbian List. And after 2018, we won the first election in 2019. Then we win elections in the second time in 2021, and we win them this year for the third time, but as they remain there in court, they say it's the year 2018<1>, Kurti said.
