At the end of the meeting, The PDK issues this statement to the media:
The Democratic Party of Kosovo has taken with great concern the United States' decision to indefinitely suspend Strategic Dialogue with Kosovo, a process which was meant to strengthen our economic, political, diplomatic and defence relations.
This serious development is a direct consequence of the government's reckless and irresponsible actions in flight and outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
His behaviour has violated trust and partnership with our biggest and most important strategic ally, the US, the country that has been and remains the biggest supporter of Kosovo's freedom, independence and statehood.
This is the biggest political, diplomatic and strategic damage that has been inflicted on the Republic of Kosovo in its 25 years of freedom, directly violating reports with our main ally and questioning the international credibility of our state.
For more than two decades, Kosovo's relations with the US have been incompatible, based on common values of freedom, peace and democracy. Today, because of a government that has chosen the conflict over co-operation and populism on responsibility, these reports are at risk.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo reiterates that the relationship with the US is the vital and national interest of Kosovo, uncomparable and irreplaceable. We remain committed to preserving, strengthening and expanding this partnership under any circumstances.
Kosovo citizens know where it has been The PDK in government, relations with the US have always been consolidated and growing. Therefore, this damage that has been done to Kosovo by the outgoing Government should serve as an alert call for all -- partnership with the United States is not a common political issue, but the foundation of our security, development and future.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo will continue to commit to this partnership to remain invincible and always in the function of the interests of the people of Kosovo.
Kosovo is its people, who have built their freedom with the decisive support of the United States of America. Beyond the mistakes of a temporary government, the trust of Kosovo's citizens in friendship and partnership with the US has been and will remain invincible because this connection is stronger than any temporary political interest and is deeply rooted in our common history and future.
Following European Union sanctions and now the United States decision on suspending the Strategic Dialogue, it has become quite clear that the country is slipping in a dangerous direction because of an irresponsible government. This is the time of the end for all pro-Western political forces, with statehood, to unite and give Kosovo a responsible government, which returns the country on the safe path to Euro-Atlantic integration.
