A media report says that to ensure the protection of personal data of citizens from political parties and subjects involved in the electoral campaign process, the agency calls for implementation of legal obligations and the ongoing enterprise of actions:
To ensure any processing of personal data is carried out on the legal basis of processing, such as citizen consent, legitimate interest in the political subject or other legitimate reasons,
Not to use contact data of citizens collected during public functions or other forms for political marketing purposes.
Do not display personal data while communicating via E-mail (e-mail, (SMS) messages and phone calls without prior consent).
To respect citizens' rights to at all times challenge their use of live marketing data and to immediately interrupt communication after the presentation of opposition.
To avoid any form of massive profile or processing of sensitive data unless there is clear legal basis and relevant safeguards have been taken, including preliminary assessment of the impact on personal data when necessary.
To ensure full transparency of citizens for data processing, by publishing clear privacy policies in a simple and accessible way.

Information and Private Agency Seeks Political Party Protection of Citizens' Personal Data During Local Election Campaign
In fulfillment of legal obligations, for the protection of personal data of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, and ensuring the integrity of the election process, the Agency for Information and Private (AIP) calls for the Political Party to protect personal data during the election campaign for local elections to be held on October 12th 2025.
To ensure the protection of personal data of citizens from political parties and subjects involved in the electoral campaign process, the Agency requires the implementation of legal obligations and the company of actions as follows:
· To ensure any processing of personal data is carried out on the legal basis of processing, such as citizen consent, legitimate interest in the political subject or other legitimate reasons,
· Not to use contact data of citizens collected during public functions or other forms for political marketing purposes.

To ensure the prosperity of the election process in line with legal obligations, the Agency offers co-operation with political subjects to ensure respect for the right to protect personal data of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and calls on political parties that during the realisation of election campaign activities, citizens' information is preserved in line with legal requirements.
