According to the report, the alliance is considering two reaction levels -- one political and one military. Political response has already been given by Secretary General NATO, Mark Rutte, as well as the leaders of member states who blamed Russia for straining the situation on NATO's eastern border.
As for the military response, he will be co-ordinated by the Supreme Allied Force Commander for Europe, General Alexandrus Grinkewich. He is assessing the situation on the ground and is determining what kind of reinforcements or supplies may be needed to ensure the security of allies in that area.
“NATO is a defence alliance and any action will focus on strengthening its pre-emptive stance”, the source was quoted by Bloomberg.
The event occurred in the early hours of September 10th, when the Polish Armed Forces destroyed several fears that had illegally entered the country's airspace. Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed that 19 USV had crossed the border from Belarus's territory, a close ally of Russia.
In response to this incident, Poland called for activating Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty, launching urgent consultations among NATO member states to analyse the situation and set further steps. /Periscope/
