These purchases were made in a very short period of time, within just a few weeks, within the initiative called “List of Priory Requests for Ukraine” (Priorished Ukraine Requirements List).
This initiative has been designed to speed up the Ukrainian Army's supply process with equipment needed for protection and to cope with Russian aggression. It aims to ensure that Ukraine receives more urgent and effective military assistance, given operational needs on the front line.
Mark Rutte also stressed that these weapons include not only protective equipment but also deadly weapons, implying advanced systems that can play a key role in changing balances in the field of battle.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has declared earlier that the United States and the European Union have agreed that American weapons will be sent to Ukraine, but financial costs will be covered by European countries. The move comes as part of efforts to balance the financial burden and to include more European countries in supporting Kiev.
Military assistance includes advanced air defence systems like Patriot batteries, and not only the missiles they use. These systems are among the most powerful in the world for protection from ballistic missiles and air strikes, and will play a crucial role in strengthening Ukraine's air defence against continuing attacks by Russia.
This joint support shows the unity and determination of NATO countries and international partners to stay close to Ukraine at its most difficult time, offering concrete military assistance to preserve sovereignty and territorial integrity. /Periscope/
