PDK MP Ganimete Musliu has reacted on the two-year anniversary of the heroic fall of Kosovo Police Sergeant Africa Bunnjak, raising the alarm for the current state situation and the lack of institutional functionality in Kosovo.
Musliu has said the best way to honor heroes and martyrs like Africa Bulnjak is “the state they failed to establish, she told the news.
“The greatest respect for heroes and martyrs like Africa Bunnjak is the strengthening of the state for which they dropped”, the MP said initially.
According to her, despite the great sacrifice of Bunnjak and all those who gave their lives for freedom and security, the state of Kosovo today is in a state of concern.
Unfortunately, today the state is weaker than ever: under sanctions by international allies, without functional institutions and with KLA leaders abandoned before a political court”, Musliu said.
The PDK MP viewed the Bunjak fall as a painful reminder for all that freedom and security are not preserved in empty words, but with strong institutions.
Africa's Valley should remind us that freedom and security are not preserved by words, but by clear actions and strong institutions. Today, unfortunately, we are far from this” standard, she added.
Africa Bulnjakou was killed on September 24th, 2023, during an armed attack on the village of Banjska in the Zvecan municipality, where Kosovo Police forces faced an armed Serb group, named by authorities as a terrorist organisation. The attack was also condemned by the international community.
